OFFICIAL RULES

When and if reactivated, the following rules apply for Captain Kaine's "Affinity Program", "Swap Shop in Cyberspace"™ and Cyberspace Sweepstakes™.  The eGames programs have their own separate set of rules.  See For Charities.

No purchase or payment to the Golden Rule Society is necessary to enter or to win. To enter the Affinity Program follow the simple procedures found in the "For Charities" Navigation Button. To enter the "Swap" phase click on the "Let's Swap" Navigation Button and follow the simple instructions.

The Golden Rule Society does not sell Raffle Tickets via the Internet. Tickets are only available through your local Church or Charity. Please contact them. They raise the money and keep 100% of the funds raised. Tell them to contact the Golden Rule Society.

Each entry has an equal chance to win. There are 2 classes of prizes, local and national. Local prizes are those that common sense decrees are in the local area of the winner, are less valuable and would make the prize worthless for a long distance winner. National prizes are the larger or more valuable prizes deemed worthwhile for a long distance winner to incur the cost and time to retrieve the prize.

All prizes are transferable by the winner to either family or friends. Sweepstakes and Swaps may be offered in creative and varied presentations. This is an brand new annual program that begins the first day of January each year. Winners are selected in a series of random drawings with the final drawings done on July 4th, 2004 (our Country's birthday) from all eligible entries received by the Golden Rule Society whose decisions are final. The day of the drawing was selected as a memorial tribute to the bravery of all the people involved in the war against terrorism.

The Sweepstakes are open to every citizen of the world. Every entrant will receive a prize. The minimum prize will be delivered via computer through the Internet. Employees, volunteers, staff of the Golden Rule Society and their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win any prize. Winners are responsible for redeeming their prize from the donor of the prize. Travel to the donor's location is also the responsibility of the winner unless specifically stated.

Golden Rule Society cannot guarantee a similar prize in the event a particular prize is not available. Any prize won by a person under the age of 18 will be awarded to the winner's parent or legal guardian. Winners and donors will be notified via e-mail within 30 days after the drawing. Direct liaison between the donor and winner is required to arrange a mutual and reasonable time to retrieve the prize. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Void where prohibited

The Golden Rule Society will continue to amass prizes for legitimate non-profit groups, churches and charities to use as incentives for people to make donations to be eligible to win the prizes. Except in California, this is a Sweepstakes program and not a raffle. Anyone interested in receiving a ticket for the drawing must contact their local Church or Charity.

All non-profit groups will upload the names and email addresses of their donors, along with the number of tickets allocated to each individual, on a monthly basis. Non-profit groups may join in the spirit of amassing prizes and report those to the Golden Rule Society. See the "Let's Swap" Button. Please see the "For Charities" Button for more information.

The Golden Rule Society acts only as a venue between the swappers/donors who offer a prize and the individuals in the Sweepstakes drawing who win the prize. The Golden Rule Society does not take possession or ownership of any donated prize. The swappers/ donors keeps ownership and possession of the prize until such time the winner retrieves the prize.

The Golden Rule Society is not involved in the actual transactions between swappers/donors and winners. As a result we have no control over the quality, safety or legality of the donated prizes nor the truth or accuracy of the value and condition of the donated prizes. We have no control of nor can we ensure that a swapper/donor and a winner will actually complete a transaction.

The Golden Rule Society cannot absolutely confirm the validity of the swapper/donor or prize because authentication on the Internet is extremely difficult, if not impossible. For legal reasons we cannot control the information provided by swappers/donors as to the availability, condition or value of the prizes. Some prizes or the information concerning the prize may be offensive, harmful, inaccurate or deceptive. Swappers/donors and winners are expected to exercise the same caution and common sense they would use in any Internet transaction.

The Golden Rule Society and its swappers/donors provide the services and prizes on an "as is" basis without any express or implied warranty or condition and specifically disclaim any implied warranty of title, condition or fitness for a particular purpose.

The Golden Rule Society nor any of its officers, advisors, employees or members will be liable for any incidental or consequential damages or losses arising out of or in connection with our charitable program. Swappers/donors, winners, charities and churches are all independent of the Golden Rule Society and no agency, partnership, joint venture, or franchise relationship is intended or created by this program.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, all notification or communications will be given by e-mail between parties.

By donating a prize or buying a raffle ticket or making a donation for a ticket, you agree to indemnify and hold the Golden Rule Society, our officers, directors, advisors, agents, employees and affiliates harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by you or any third party due to or arising out of this program.

The Fund Raising Program shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of California. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure access to our services and operation of our site may be interfered with by a number of factors beyond our control.

By donating a prize or acquiring a ticket for a prize you acknowledge that you agree to the terms and conditions of the Official Rules. A receipt from a local church or charity will be provided for each donated prize to the swapper/donor, upon request, once the winner has received the prize. This sets forth the entire understanding.
